Welcome to our orchestra page. Below is an interactive guide to a typical orchestra, colour-coded by instrument family and laid out in the way it’s most commonly found on stage. Click on any of the sections to read a brief (and not particularly serious!) description of each instrument, followed by an introductory playlist of pieces we think best represents it. These playlists contain solo instrumentals, works for small groups and larger orchestral pieces, and range from well-known classics to hidden gems (tuba concerto anyone?). Let us know your favourite!
