Over the past few months we’ve been working with Highams Park School on a project based around the brass instruments of the orchestra. Starting with a workshop which introduced the trumpet and trombone, we also talked with year 7 students about the sort of things they would like to do at future workshops.
Towards the end of last term it was time for a full brass quintet – here’s a pic we took of the quintet’s performance in year 7 assembly. They even got the students (and teachers) singing along!
For the rest of the morning it was workshops with individual classes, taking the music that students were learning in their keyboard skills lessons and bringing it to life. With everyone making music together, it went down a storm – we can’t wait to go back.
